Indiana links its 1st death to vaping, 3rd so far in country

That's the latest warning from the c-d-c tonight.the recommendation comes after someone right here in indiana died from a vaping related illness.fox 55's cody butler has more.

The indiana health department says an adult has died from severe lung injury linked to vaping.this is the country's third vaping-related death.

Now the centers for disease control and prevention is urging people to stay away from vaping devices.

Nationwide ... there are more than 450 confirmed or suspected cases of lung injuries in 33 states.28 of those cases are right here in indiana.the c-d-c ranks indiana third in the country for e-cigarate use.a stat that doesn't surprise tobacco free allen county executive director nancy cripe.

The c-d-c and f-d-a are looking into the sudden illnesses.right now investigators are looking a the chemical 'vitamin e acetate' it was in nearly all vaping products containing cannabis.

Just this week ... michigan's governor signed a bill making it the first state to ban flavored e-cigarettes.in fort wayne ... cody butler ... fox 55 news.

The indiana state health department does have some resources for people to help people stop using e-cigarettes.
