New York Mayor Bill de Blasio Pulls Out Of 2020 Presidential Race
On Friday, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, bowed out of the 2020 presidential campaign.
Reuters reports that De Blasio’s departure leaves 19 Democrats in the running to be the party’s nominee.
During a new conference 58-year-old De Blasio told reporters "Sometimes it’s just not your time, and that’s OK.”
He launched his candidacy in May branding himself with the slogan, “Working People First.
Low polling numbers prevented de Blasio from qualifying in the televised debates, which made it a challenge to continue.
Reuters says that President Trump bid de Blasio 'a sarcastic farewell.'
Trump tweeted "Oh no, really big political news, perhaps the biggest story in years!
Part time Mayor of New York City, @BilldeBlasio, who was polling at a solid ZERO but had tremendous room for growth, has shocking dropped out of the Presidential race.”
