Republicans Accuse Democrats Of Trying To "Smear" Elaine Chao

Two Republicans said Democrats are trying to “smear” Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.

They said their investigation on whether she abused her office is politically motivated.

According to Politico, Reps.

Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows wrote a letter against Democrats investigating Chao.

The probe was initiated by House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings and Rep.

Raja Krishnamoorthi.

Jordan and Meadows said: “We have no insight to what due diligence — if any — informed your inquiry.”
