Central girls basketball looks to continue upward trend

Tuesday.

We'll stay in the mvc as central looks to build on its 7-5 conference record.

Head coach roberson says that despite losing 7 seniors, he expects this group to be just as good, if not better.

He says senior point guard rachel peterson had a great offseason and brings that natural leadership, and ava parcher averaged 13 points as a sophomore, so look for her to grab some more responsibility.

The red raiders say to contend with onalaska and aquinas, they have to improve on a few things.

"last year our main problem was playing one half, and then the second half we just couldn't execute well.

So if we play two full halves i think we could be very successful."

"we have to play great defense.

We have to dig in on the defensive end and get stops.

Some of those [mvc] teams are very good scoring teams, and if we can't stop them, we can't win.

And then taking care of the basketball.

We have to get better at handling presses."

Central opens at menomonie
