The incident occurred at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California.

The school has around 2,300 students and is located less than an hour from Los Angeles.

The shooting was first reported at about 8 AM.

Authorities say that the suspected shooter has been apprehended.

Los Angeles police add that the suspect, who is being medically treated, is an Asian male.

Reports from Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital say that a female died in the shooting.

The hospital also says that two male victims are in critical condition
