Impeachment Testimony Rattles Pompeo's Job Security
The US Secretary of State played a more central role than previously known in President Donald Trump’s Ukraine dealings.
That's according to testimony on Wednesday in the House of Representatives' impeachment investigation.
According to Reuters, the testimony has fueled uncertainty within the administration about Mike Pompeo's future.
Gordon Sondland is the U.S. ambassador to the European Union and a key figure in the inquiry.
Sondland depicted Pompeo as a participant in Trump's efforts to get Ukraine to carry out investigations that could help him politically.
According to Reuters, Trump isn't expected to oust one of his staunchest supporters over the testimony.
However, Pompeo has been widely reported to be mulling his exit to run for Senate next year.
