Pound Soars After Johnson's Tories Win Decisive Victory

Business Insider reports the British Pound Sterling surged as much as 2.1% against the dollar on Thursday.

Official UK exit polls showed a strong Conservative majority in the 2019 UK election.

Some traders were worried that the Brexit uncertainty would continue if there was a hung parliament.

That's because a win by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn could well have meant a second referendum.

Traders cheered the certainty of the outcome, as a Tory win would give PM Boris Johnson a clear Brexit mandate.
