Delonte West's Former Coach and Teammate React After He Was Beaten in Viral Video Video footage of former NBA star Delonte West being attacked, yelling incoherently and sitting handcuffed on a Washington D.C.

Street went viral on Monday.

Phil Martelli, West's former coach, and Jameer Nelson, West's former teammate during his time at Saint Joseph's, offered their support.

Nelson revealed that he'd been in contact with West over the "past few months" and was "sick" to his stomach after watching the video.

Martelli reposted Nelson's message and shared a few thoughts of his own.

Phil Martelli, via Twitter West's former agent, Aaron Goodwin, confirmed to TMZ that the person in the video was indeed the former NBA star.

According to Goodwin, West is now recovering from the attack.

West played with the Celtics, Supersonics, Cavaliers and Mavericks over the course of his nine-season NBA career.
