Thai driver shunts pickup truck off multi-storey car park before fleeing scene

A dopey driver allegedly shunted a colleague's pickup truck sending it tumbling from the third floor of a car park.

The driver was manoeuvring into position at the building when he reportedly clipped the silver Toyota in Nonthaburi, Thailand on Tuesday (February 18) evening.

Pictures show how the vehicle, which had its handbrake off, landed on top of a white Toyota Vios that was parked below.

Police arrived and began searching for the driver, named Decho Chanpen, 55, who allegedly fled the scene of the accident.

Police Major Suwat Saneha said: "From our initial inspection of the scene, the Honda CR-V driver appears to have carelessly hit the pickup truck and pushed it down.

"Fortunately, there was no one around when the accident happened so nobody was injured.

Now we are finding the Honda CR-V driver and we need to question him before deciding on the charges." Officers checked CCTV inside the multi-storey car park used by government employees and identified the employee.

They said he faces a hefty bill for the damage to the building and the two cars if he does not have motor insurance.
