Local group makes the trip to smoke-free Hard Rock Casino, with hopes to keep smoking out of Terre Haute's potential casino

Terre a group a group from terre haute is exploring "smoke-free options" at casinos.

It comes as terre haute prepares for a possible casino of its own.

"casy" was part of the push for vigo county's clean indoor air ordinance that's in effect today.

Now, the group hopes the new hard rock casino expected in terre haute will be smoke free.

He explains why this is so important to them.

////// "it was in 2012 when vigo county became one of the first in the state to pass a clean indoor air ordinance.

Fast forward a few years, and chances and services for youth hopes vigo county will blaze trails once again in the state of indiana, and having its first smoke-free casino."

The hard rock casino in cincinnati, like all casinos in ohio, are smoke free.

Our cameras were not allowed inside the casino.

I can tell you we experienced a clean and modern casino with no indoor air issues.

"i was looking at the slot machines, the gaming, and everything else and thinking that the atmosphere this is something terre haute can have and this is something that terre haute can be proud of."

Whether terre haute opens as indiana's first smoke-free casino remains to be seen, but you can expect halleck to take the same message he had in 2012 to the community in 2020.

They're going to invest in illinois.

Both of those facilites are smoke free.

It makes sense for hard rock to invest in a smoke free casino in terre haute."
