Let's get right to your top stories of the day.

Relatives of the scott county missing mother confirmed that a man arrested friday morning by georgetown police..

Was an ex- boyfriend....but he's not charged in connection to the woman's disappearance.

The arrest citation says 53 year old joseph hicks was charged with tampering with physical evidence, falsely reporting an incident, and criminal mischief.

The charges against hicks came the same day baxter went missing.

She was last seen outside her sister's house in scott county... who says baxter went outside to put a bag in her car and hasn't been seen since.

Georgetown police aren't saying if the two cases are connected.

In the next hour... we'll tell you more details about hicks' whereabouts... and what baxter's sister has to say about his arrest.

We now know a woman found dead in her bed late last night...died from a gunshot wound.

### governor andy beshear has signed a bill... requiring law enforcement officers carry weapons when assigned to provide security at schools.

The measure won bipartisan support in the house and senate.

Lexington has its fourth confirmed flu-related death of the flu season.

Health officials say the victim was a person in their 30's with underlying health issues.

An infant also died from the flu in lexington this year.

The city now has 405 confirmed cases... an increase of 59 from last week.

U-s intelligence officials are issuing a new warming about russian interference in u-s elections.

They briefed lawmakers recently... saying that russia is interfering in this year's election campaign to help president donald trump get re- elected.

That is raising questions once again about whether the u-s is doing enough to prevent the kind of meddling the country saw in the 2016 election.

A kentucky woman pleads guilty to manslaughter in connection with a car crash that killed a white supremacist leader.

Emily sherry entered her plea thursday in the 20-18 death of robert ransdell.

Ransdell led a white supremacist group based in cincinnati and ran unsuccessfully for the u-s.

Troopers say all of the children were under the age of five.

The initial wave will bring a wave of warm towards the region sending temperatures into the mid 50s by sunday and rain showers likely all day monday.

Tuesday will be quiet but cloudy before a potential rain/snow system moves towards the bluegrass region on wednesday and into thursday.

The current thought is this will start off as rain and quickly transition into snow showers with snow likely most of the day on thursday.

It's worthy to note it's still 5 days out and models are still evolving on this storm system so confidence in this forecast remains low.

This saturday, the basketball cats will look to win thier sixth straight c1 3 s-e-c game.

The florida gators are coming to town.

Cats and gators tip off at 6 on e-s-p-n.

The gators are in a three-way tie for second place in the s-e-c.

Obviously a win over the cats would also bolster their n-c-a-a tournament resume.

The big question for this game...will solid blue fans see ashton hagans and nick richards?

Hagans sat the end of the l-s-u game with ice on his thigh, but nick richards checked back in after that ugly fall where he came down on the basketball.

Speaking of nick richards, if you haven't checked out coach cal or the u-k men's basketball twitter account, you are missing out.

U-k athletics has tipped off their "we pick nick" campaign.

It's all to push richards to be selected as an all- american.

To go with the current times, the video has a "campaign commercial" theme and features cameos from p-j washington, jay bilas, jimmy dykes and u-k volleyball star leah edmond...who if you didn't know is nick's girlfriend.

Another big game on the hardwood will feature the u-k women.

And, a new mom is being hailed as a hero for helping save a truck driver in a fiery tanker crash.

C1 3 thank you for staying with us.

Police in hawaii have arrested a 47- year-old mother wanted in idaho in the disappearance of her children.

Lori vallow's children... seven- year-old joshua vallow... and 17- year-old tylee ryan... have not been seen since september.

Vallow and her husband fled idaho for hawaii two months after the kids went missing.

Hawaiian authorities ordered vallow to turn her children over to them in january... but she didn't.

The jury deliberating in harvey weinstein's rape trial indicated today that it is deadlocked on the most serious charges.

In a note sent to the judge during their lunch break, jurors asked if it were permissible for them to be hung on two counts of predatory sexual assault while reaching a unanimous verdict on other charges.

Weinstein's lawyers say they would accept a partial verdict, but prosecutors said no.

Another horse has died at santa anita park in southern california.

The track says the four-year-old horse was euthanized on thursday after suffering a fracture in its right leg during training.

About 40 horses have died at the track since december 2018.

The deaths prompted officials to briefly shut down racing at santa anita last year.

New moms are already heroes in their own right ... but one indiana woman has a heroic save from a fire under her belt too.

Holly mcnally is credited with saving a driver from this inferno in indiana.

State police say a tanker carrying jet fuel overturned on i-70 and burst into flames.

Mcnally was among the good samaritans who jumped in the help rescue the driver.

Get this.... mcnally had just visited her newborn son connor in the nic-u moments before she spotted the wreck.

She says he was on her mind when she rushed in to help the driver.

"i thought, what if that's my son?

What if that's connor when he's 30.

Would you want somebody to just leave him there?"

Authorities say the truck driver is in the hospital in critical condition.

State police believe speed contributed to the crash.

After a very cold start...today turned into a sunny, crisp winter day.

We'll show you what your weekend looks like, next.

Later...a look at the financial hit the airline is taking because of the coronavirus.

Also later...the movie 'the color purple' turns 35.

This marks the first overall decline in international airline travel in more than a decade.

A consumer alert for parents.

Kolcraft is recalling its inclined sleeper accessory...for safety reasons.

The recall went into effect after infant deaths were reported with other manufacturers' inclined sleep products.

The infants died after rolling from their back onto their side or stomach.

The inclined sleeper is the only part being recalled.

General mills announced it will soon introduce a super-healthy cereal.... and it's coming with a very healthy price tag.

"morning summit" cereal includes a variety of healthful ingredients... including dried cherries, cranberries, pumpkin seeds and almonds with organic coconut oil.

The cost?

13-dollars a box.

Compare that to the average price of a box of cereal ... which is just over three dollars.

The arrest citation from georgetown police says 53-year old joseph hicks was charged with tampering with physical evidence, falsely reporting an incident, and criminal mischief in another case we reported to you a week ago on our eleven o' clock news....the same day sheena baxter disappeared.

Abc 36's alexus larson tells us more about what police say happened that night... and how baxter's sister is reacting to the arrest...in our top story at six.

Missing mother of three, sheena baxter was last seen a week ago outside this mobile home on sundown drive in scott county.

Her sister, christa crumley, says baxter went outside to put a bag in her car...saying she would be right back...she hasn't been seen since.

"this ain't like her.

This is not normal."

Friday morning... her sister says baxter's ex-boyfriend joseph hicks was arrested.... but police aren't saying his arrest is connected to baxter.

The charges against hicks...came the same day baxter disappeared.

"it's making me think and wonder.

I'm not going to lie."

According to the police report, hicks was found here with an apparent gunshot wound to his wrist.

Police say hicks told them a man approached him and shot him in a walmart.

After reviewing the security tapes ... and talking to witnesses... police say it didn't happen...that hicks made the story up.

"i just want to know at this point."

The report says after further investigation... police learned hicks was inside a semi at phoenix trucking prior to the reported shooting.

The report also says police found the truck and found damage from a bullet inside.

Two days later... the report says hicks was caught on camera... trying to clean potential evidence from the truck.

"there's so many thoughts going through my head don't think i haven't thought of every single person that i can think of."

Crumley says her sister dated hicks for about a year.

Court documents show baxter had protective orders against him on two separate occasions in 2018.

"i mean, we're looking at it."

"baxter's sister says she's taking everything into consideration and is hopeful police will be able to bring her sister back home."

"help us find her, bring her home."

Reporting in georgetown, alexus larson, abc 36 news.

A special project through the v-a in lexington is helping veterans work through trauma.

And it's using tattoos to do it.

The badges of honor project takes pictures of veterans tattoos.

When they come in for their photo... they are asked to talk about the tattoo.... and why they got it.

Candace woods is the photographer.

She served in the army for about six years and says she's seen her fellow veterans really open up about their experiences through this project.

"it's really awesome to be able to work with other veterans that have tattoos and that have gone through certain traumas or certain mental health issues.

It kind of helps build a story of who they are and it really shows that we're all human."

The photos will be displayed in black and white all throughout the v-a mental health center.

We'll stay fairly quiet for the next couple of days with mostly sunny skies into the weekend.

The pattern changes late sunday night into monday as a vigorous storm system moves toward the ohio valley.

Stay tuned!

The florida gators are coming to town.

Cats and gators tip off at 6 on e-s-p-n.

The big question for this game...will solid blue fans see ashton hagans and nick richards?

Hagans sat the end of the l-s-u game with ice on his thigh, but nick richards checked back in after that ugly fall where he came down on the basketball.

Grab your hiking boots...a ball... your skateboard...it may have been cold today...but this weekend is looking skateboard...it may have been cold today...but this weekend is looking c1 3 nice.

The best times to head outside coming up in justin's forecast.

But first, "seeing the world with your heart rather than your eyes."

Just what this amazing pup is doing in lexington.

What we can all learn from him.

You have to see this.

And later in sports...bryan gets us ready for the kentucky florida game tomorrow.

Why the cats are in prime position to take on the gators.

C1 3 get a lot of attention walking down the street.

...but here's why you need to get to know willow...he's extra special...because he sees the world, and people, not with his eyes... but with his heart.

Abc 36's christy bollinger shares his story.

"you're such a good boy."

A good boy... who doesn't need to hear, or even see someone..

To love them.

'seeing the world with your heart rather than your eyes."

Because get this...ten-year-old willow can't see, or hear..

He's both blind and deaf... which made his first owner give him up.

"love you."

Which made elizabeth slone, love him all the more.

"he's been the easiest dog i think it just took finding the right owner."

Willow was rescued from a puppy mill...his disabilities caused by poor breeding.

The thing with dogs is they forget and they also forgive.

Despite a difficult start to life...willow still wants to work.... jumping in car-door?

Car start?

Which is in his blood as an australian shepherd.

Another car nat?

... but his job, isn't typical, like herding sheep.

Walk with collar "hi buddy."

He's a therapy dog.

Awe you so pretty willow visits nursing homes.

"i got something in my hand."

And patients at hospitals.

"how we doing?

We doing good?"

"oh my gosh as soon as willow walks in their faces light up and smiles just like it makes me smile right now just thinking about em."

He also joins after school programs, so kids who struggle with reading aloud...can practice on him with no judgment.

I think he gets it...things don't come so easily to him, either.

'it helps them build up their confidence and gets them encouraged to read and develop better reading skills."

One of willow's best buds?

A purple heart world war two veteran... willow visits at home.

"you make me so happy.

So happy."

He can't see..

Or even hear... how happy he makes people..

Which shows he doesn't do it to be praised.

"he's just a great dog."

But something tells me he knows just how much of a difference he's making in their lives... whether it's an eight year old kid who struggles reading... or a 96 year old war vet who's in and out of the hospital.

"yeah it's amazing."

If only we all could see the world like willow does..

Smooch christy bollinger, abc 36 news.

Willow's owner thinks his story could have an impact even beyond the people he's helping every day.

She hopes to turn his life story into an animated movie.

She's working on a script right now...with the working title "blind".

The cats will play florida this weekend at rupp.

Then they end out the season with games against texas a & m, auburn, tennessee at home then florida again but in gainesville.

With march right around the corner, the cats need to be at their best and good news for solid blue fans...coach cal says yesterday...that cats had arguably their best practice of the season.

Speaking of nick richards, if you haven't checked out coach c1 3 cal or the u-k men's basketball twitter account, you are missing out.

To bolster that all-american bid, richards will need to be on the court...obviously.

There is a big question mark on if he'll play after that scary fall he took against l-s-u.

Here's nick on what was going through his head.

It's a captain obvious statement...if the cats don't c1 3 have nick richards it will hurt...big time, especially with florida bringing in kerry blackshear.

Don't take my word for it though...richards' teammates know how valuable he is to this team.

Another big game on the hardwood will feature the u-k women.

C1 3 the 14th ranked cats are set host number one ranked south carolina at memorial coliseum on sunday.

The two faced off in columbia at the beginning of january...and that one got ugly quick.

The gamecocks led by 12 after the first and 21 after the first half.

They'd end up winning by 27.

Coach matthew mitchell knows they will need to play at their highest level to beat south carolina.

The bat cats and the u-k softball both in c1 3 action on this friday.
