More than 100 volunteers read to students across Middle Georgia Elementary schools including Martin Luther King Elementary.

41nbc's rashaad vann was at martin luther king jr elementary school and has more on how students and volunteers celebrated.

Volunteers read to students across middle georgia's elementary schools, to celebrate read across america...they also celebrated dr. suess's 116th birthday.

Student zariah moon, told me she enjoyed the book volunteers read called, "and to think that i saw it on mulberry street".

The story follows a boy named marco, who describes a parade of imaginary people and vehicles on mulberry street, in a fantasy story he dreams up to tell his father at the end of his walk.

I think what was most fun, is when he went home, he had made up a whole story but when he got home, he told a different story, he told the truth on friday, united way will celebrate dr. seuss's birthday again with the 2nd annual seuss on the loose
