The EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier issues a warning to the UK, asking it to respect the EU's independence but says negotiations over the past few days have "been constructive".
Barnier's words come as Boris Johnson says he wants a comprehensive agreement on Britain’s future relationship with the EU by the end of the Brexit transition period at the end of the year.
