Deadly fire in Gaza Strip market kills at least nine

A deadly fire that ripped through a market in the Gaza Strip has killed at least nine and left 58 injured.

Footage filmed on March 5 shows thick smoke shrowding the air as numerous cars are left charred by the blaze.

According to reports, eyewitnesses said that a huge explosion came from a bakery and the blaze spread to nearby stalls and factories.

A number of victims who were seriously wounded in the fire have been transferred to hospitals in Egypt and the occupied West Bank for treatment, Gaza's Ministry of Health said.

Gaza's Interior Ministry said that the initial investigations suggested that the fire resulted from a gas leak inside one of the bakeries that caused several cooking gas cylinders to explode.
