Spain's Government Moves Forward With Stronger Measure To Prevent COVID-19 From Spreading

Spain’s government approved stronger measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

According to Reuters, their dead toll rose by 838 cases overnight to 6,528.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that all non-essential workers must stay at home for two weeks.

He said workers would receive their usual salaries but would have to make up lost hours later.

While unions welcomed the new measures, they said it would deeply hurt the economy.

LaLiga has been given the go-ahead to restart from June 8, according to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in an address to the nation. The Spanish top-flight was suspended on March 12 because of coronavirus but the league stepped up its preparations for a resumption as group training of up to 10 players was allowed at the start of the week.
