According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, businesses seem to be complying with the local state of emergency ordinance.

There are more than 38-hundred confirmed cases statewide.

Numbers will be updated at 7 p-m.

The bibb county sheriff's office reports... most businesses are complying with the local state of emergency order.

41nbc's tanya modersitzki has more on deputies and their enforecement protocols.

Since macon bibb mayor robert reichert declared a local state of emergency earlier this month ..

It included restaurants to close their dining rooms ..

And bars to temporarily close.

Captain brad wolfe with the bibb county sheriff's office says there's only been one incident with a restaurant not complying.

"we're not going around and checking every business.

We get a call from a concercened citizen, then we go check it out."

Wolfe says deputies are looking for voluntary compliance.

"the first contact we have with a restaurant owner would be a warning like i said we go out there and talk to them and make sure they have a copy of the order, they understand it and to comp;ly.

Of course if they dont then we take it to another level."

The same goes for house parties.

Wolfe says he knows there are not enough deputies to enforce the ordinance, but are doing their best to keep every one safe.
