Their immune...jillian?

Chynna both of those cases are classified as "household transmissions" which means they caught it from someone in their home.

Due to privacy issues... we don't know if they live in the same house.

But jason davis with lane county public health says when one case pops up in a family... at least one other person will probably catch it because the disease is so contagious.

One of the teens is 16... the other 18... and they're both males who live in the eugene springfield area.

Davis says they're recovering at home.

Of course... most of the deaths we've seen in the united states have involved older americans with prexisting medical conditions.

But i spoke with doctor patrick luedtke at lane county public health... who tells me the virus doesn't discriminate by age group.

"these two infections show certainly younger people can get infected and other countries have shown that a small percentage of young people can have severe disease we don't know enough about this virus to predict who those people might be so precaution is really the order of the day" and just to re- emphasize:*all age groups are at risk of getting infected.

That's why its crucial we all practice social distancing...wash your hands...call before going into facilities...and stay home.
