Man gets himself kitten to keep him sane during COVID-19 lockdown

This is the adorable story of a young Australian man who got himself a tiny KITTEN to keep him sane in the 2020 lockdown When the Coronavirus lockdown kicked in 30-year-old Shane Abdula realised he was going to be spending a lot of time on his own.

Not keen to do that Shane got himself a quarantine companion in the form of adorable Pablo the 14-week old tabby kitten.

The two have become great friends and Shane is documenting Pablos antics and growth in quarantine on the Instagram page @coronakitty2020 One of the stand out videos shows Pablo jumping over an increasingly high wall of toilet paper which hilariously culminates with the tiny kitty BURSTING through the wall.

Shane who lives on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia said:   "I live on my own in a house that's too large for one person, I have only been living here for about a year, but it was a complete scene change for me." "I have no friends that live close by as everyone is in Melbourne.

Corona Virus happened, and I realised that I was going to have to spend quarantine alone, then in a stroke of genius, I decided to get myself a quarantine kitty.

I needed something to give my affection to, and since we can't touch other humans anymore, I thought a cat would be the perfect companion that can lap up all of my attention and love.

I LOVE HIM!"   "Pablo is a little legend and is keeping me sane through all of this hardship.

" "He is the most affectionate little guy.

I was begging to get severely depressed.

Being stuck in a house, by yourself, for an undefined period of time is very daunting.

I know there are so many people in worse situations right now, and I really feel for them.

If you need a little bit of love in your life, get yourself a quarantine kitty, just look at how special he is.

He already knows he is the boss."   "I filmed Pablo's attempt at jumping over different levels of toilet paper wall on the second day that I had him, and I had to strategically coax him into jumping over by throwing one of his favourite toys over and then hiding off the shot.

It took about an hour and a half not including cleaning up my hall way afterwards."   "I have never wanted to have children, it's just never been on the cards for me.

After rescuing Pablo, I now realise how much I can actually love something!

I feel like I am his father, and I am constantly fussing over him because I am worried he is going to hurt himself somehow.

Being in the house on my own during quarantine, Pablo makes me feel so loved and special, the way he sneaks up into my lap when I'm watching tv at night really gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling and makes me feel less alone."   "I am so excited to watch Pablo grow in quarantine with me.

He is already getting bigger and smarter by the day.

I know that we are all doing it tough right now, but just remember, we are all in this together, and if you find yourself alone in quarantine, get a kitty….

Trust me!"
