The president of the walt disney world resort in florida announced to employees that on sunday it will begin a temporary furlough of the majority of its workforce.

Heavy rain and storms are once again likely on sunday as a storm system approaches.

The worst of the severe weather will stay to our south, but some storms south of highway 82 could turn severe.

Rain will exit by the evening, leaving us drier for monday and tuesday.

Saturday night: clouds will slowly build into the area with rain chances increasing after 2am.

Some thunder and maybe a little small hail are possible by sunrise.

Lows will be in the low 50s.

Sunday: our first round of storms will move through in the morning hours, bringing a chance of heavy rain, gusty winds, and some hail.

It looks like we will dry out closer to lunchtime before our next round of storms moves in after 1pm.

Most of us won't see any severe weather at all on sunday, but the ingredients in case you missed it, governor tate reeves is extending the statewide shelter- in-place order by one week.

But he's also easing up on some of the restrictions.

Courtney ann jackson explains what's changing.

The inevitable economic domino effect of this virus is something governor tate reeves is fully aware of.

"my heart breaks for those 140,000 people who have lost their jobs."

He says he knows he could give data comparisons to other states' numbers.

"but that doesn't mean a damn thing to those 140 thousand people who've lost their jobs."

That's why he wants to move towards the light at the end of the tunnel...but for now, we're still in the eye of the storm.

"we have to do everything we can to get our economy back open as soon as it's safe.

And i can promise you i want to be sitting here this morning saying monday morning we're rocking and rolling again we're just not quite there yet."

Reeves says that while sheltering in place is a temporary tool- it's working.

"it is the reason we are becoming increasingly more confident that we're not going to overstress our healthcare system."

State health officer dr. thomas dobbs- " we're probably on the plateau or on the backside of the photo.

It's hard to say.

We're hopeful that we're on the backside of it.

It's hard to say we have some indicators that that could possibly be the case.

As far as healthcare utilization, we are probably smack dab in the middle unless it gets worse for some reason."

And that's why the timing of this extension is important.

But reeves is finding ways to spread the spending out for businesses.

His new order will allow what's been defined as non- essential businesses to make sales for curbside, drive- thru or delivery- extending a lifeline to those small businesses.

"we can get some of those people out of the walmart.

We can spread out more.

We can actually make more people more safe."

The state' s beaches and lakes will also be allowed to re- open starting monday morning at 8.

"it's a small thing but i hope it helps even a bit for people who need to safely get out in the sun for their own sanity."

Again, these changes both for non-essential businesses and beaches and lakes do not take effect till monday morning at 8.

Restaurants are struggling but finding a way to survive during the covid-19 pandemic.

While it's not always easy, workers know they are finding a way to help others.

Our deandria turner talks to two area managers and explains.

Nat keith evans spends most of his days managing the front lines of smoothie king.

"it keeps me leveled coming here.

I feel like if i wasn't coming here then i would have a lot of chances to overthink," he's adjusting to the uncertainty of living in pandemic, even if uncertainty is the only certain thing in this crisis.

"we're just at the point to where everything is abnormal it's starting to feel normal.

Even when we're going through all of those gloves i'm to the point now to where we're several weeks in that kind of being the new norm" that new norm is wearing masks, switching gloves after every customer, and handling the flow of customers strictly coming through the drive thru.

Evans says a lot of the times working in this industry they have to adapt to the trends "while this is atypical with a lot of things were have to adjust to it kinda part for the course for the things we have to do on a regular basis" usually ebone hubbard worked most days at frutta bowls, that was up until yesterday.

That's when the company got a covid-19 small business support loan.

She calls it a much needed break, but now hubbard is also searching for a routine.

"it's bittersweet now that we have to shut things down.

I'm just going to have to find some kind of schedule to do," these food industry workers know having a little grub or a drink ready for customers can help provide some normalcy for customers, even if their world isn't so smooth.

"being able to get out of the house and coming to get a smoothie is kind of what brings people together and help people stay happy, healthy, and as normal as they can so it's good to be in this situation," finding the positivity in an uncertain time.éé evans also says he's grateful to have a job during this time.

Long before social distancing... one paper delivery man was already keeping customers an arm's throw away away.

On the road with steve hartman it's often said that a person's true character is revealed in times of adversity.

Steve hartman found proof of that, "on the road."

Long before social distancing, greg dailey was already keeping his customers an arm's throw away.

Fact, to those on his paper route in central new jersey, greg has never been anything more than a blur past their driveway.

But all that changed when one elderly customer asked him a simple favor - could he please pull in and throw the paper closer to the garage.

Bite greg "if she can't get the paper at the sidewalk, which is 20 feet from the house, in this pandemic - how is she going to get the things she needs?

So a couple days later i just decided, you know what, i'm going to put this note out."

Std-up/ the note - stuck in the next day's edition - said, 'my name is greg dailey and i deliver your newspaper every morning' - which was news to most people - 'i would like to offer my services - free of charge - to anyone who needs groceries.'

From that moment to this, the phone has been ringing off the hook.

Nat greg taking an order he takes the orders, does the shopping, and delivers the groceries - not by whipping them out the window, but by carefully placing them on the porch.

Nat greg waving to woman in window, "be well, happy holiday."

So far, he's delivered to nearly a hundred senior citizens on his route& nat greg driving "and the words gotten out."

&and some ánotá on his route.

If greg hears about a person who is elderly or compromised, he will be there.

And, boy, are people grateful.

Eileen stein is 85 and recently widowed.

Bite eileen "i don't have enough adjectives.

He is one of the finest people in the world."

The lady at this house went even further - called him the closest thing to god.

Nat bite greg "there's a level of appreciation here, steve, that goes above and beyond anything i've ever seen.

So, no, i'm not going to stop.

Steve: well, you'll stop when this is done.

" greg says not necessarily.

Bite greg "there's something about being able to do something really nice for people."

When you hear folks say america will emerge from this stronger - this is exactly what they mean.

Greg didn't do volunteer work before - heck, he didn't do his own grocery shopping before.

He's just a guy called into duty by circumstance - who will now stay in service by choice.

Steve hartman, cbs news, on the road.

We're continuing to track the potential for more strong storms through the day tomorrow.

We'll have the latest from the first alert forecast center coming heavy rain and storms are once again likely on sunday as a storm system approaches.

Most of us won't see any severe weather at all on sunday, but the ingredients will be in place along south of highway 82 in the afternoon and evening.

There, storms are capable of producing damaging winds and/or an isolated tornado.

Everyone else will likely just see heavy rain and some thunder.

However, this is still a threat worth watching, especially if you're in the level 3 or 4 risk areas.

All severe weather will exit by 10pm, leaving us with just a few isolated showers overnight.

Monday-tuesday: a few clouds will linger on monday, but it's likely that we'll see at least a little sunshine.

Tuesday looks to be the sunniest day of the week with just a few passing clouds.

Highs will be in the low 70s on monday, climbing into the mid and upper 70s on tuesday.

Overnight lows will be in the 40s and 50s.

Wednesday- thursday: yet another storm system will bring increased chances for rain and storm activity by the middle of the week.

Storms will start to enter the area wednesday afternoon and persist through much of the day on thursday.

Afternoon highs will continue to be in the mid to upper 70s with overnight lows in the mid to upper 50s.

Friday-saturday: the majority of the rain and storm activity will exit by friday, leaving us mostly dry for the end of the week.

However, a few showers can't be ruled out on friday and even into saturday.

We'll be back closer to 80 by friday.

Heavy rain and when we come back, we pay tribute to the first female mississippi supreme court chief justice.

Don't go anywhere.

Lenore loving prather was a trailblazer in the golden triangle and throughout the state.

Today a community says goodbye to the west point native and the first female mississippi supreme court chief justice.

Our savannah gaido has more on prather's life and legacy.

"it means a lot to us because we were unable to have a visitation and have people come by and offer condolences and tell us stories and tell us funny things that mother did or said or things that she did that were impactful in their life."

Prather was well known for her work on the bench.

She was first appointed as a municipal court judge in west point back in 1965.

She was appointed to the mississippi supreme court in 1982 and became the first female chief justice in 1998.

She also served as interim president of her alama mater, mississippi university for women, in the early 2000's.

The community she served for so long was at the lowndes county courthouse on saturday with a drive-by service.

"we had boy scouts here and the fire department and representatives from mississippi university for women and it was just a lovely tribute to her, we do appreciate it."

The tributes came from a wide array of people.

"actually, it was an honor for columbus fireman and rescue to be able to participate in this memorial for the service for judge."

"she was one of a kind and she could not necessarily be defined just by her gender as being a first but she was a first in so many other ways.

Her compassion, her clarity and understanding of the law was actually what she is remembered for today."

The covid- 19 pandemic could not stop people from honoring a legendary woman, who leaves behind a lifetime of service and who opened doors for others.

"well everyone is cognitive of the time we are in and social distancing and being aware of the covid threat, but we have to put that aside when we have such a giant among us who has passed but we want to let the community know that she is held in high regard and in our memory and by getting out and by participating in the service i think we've done that today."

If you would like to pay your respects, there is a memorial on display outside at the courthouse.

If you're looking for things to do at home during the quarantine... we have few ideas for you.

Quarantine with courtney is coming up next, don't go our sports anchor courtney robb is the quarantine queen.

We asked her to come up with ideas of things to do while at home.

And she has delivered.

In this episode of quarantine with courtney, we are back in the kitchen.

Courtney robb: hello yes, and welcome back to the quarantine.

We're back in my kitchen, which means again today, we're baking.

Both you and i know that flour is a hot commodity and very hard to come by right now and that is why in the quarantine we are going to be making flourless chocolate chip cookies.

First things first, let's start with the ingredients.

One cup of brown sugar, one cup of peanut butter.

If you have a peanut allergy, go ahead and substitute any other kind of butter, almond butter, sunflower butter, just use some kind of nut butter.

One large egg, one teaspoon of baking soda.

Remember baking soda, not baking powder, not the same thing, and of course the best part of any recipe, half a cup of chocolate chips.

All right, step number one, preheat your oven to 350.

Courtney robb: here's another up close and personal look at the cookie.

Look at that.

Now of course, the most important part of any baking activity, which is the taste test.

Listen, for having no flour and using peanut butter as the base, the peanut butter doesn't come through too powerful.

It's actually a pretty good cookie for how few ingredients there are.

Courtney robb: for the final verdict, we rate things in the quarantine on a scale of one to five naps, five naps being the best thing you can spend your time on in your quarantine.

I'm given the flourless chocolate chip cookies a four out of five naps because i'm not going to lie, they're not as good as the traditional chocolate chip cookie.

I'm not going to lie to you.

However, they're pretty good.

If you go ahead and try the flourless chocolate chip cookie, make sure you let me know on twitter, or if you have any other ideas of things people can do to pass the time during this period of quarantine, you can let me know those at my twitter handle below as well.

We'll see you back here in the quarantine
