Filipino motorcyclists are punished to walk along streets with helmets after being caught riding without protective gears

This is the bizarre moment motorcyclists caught riding without helmets were made to ride invisible bikes around the empty streets as a punishment.

The alleged traffic violators were reportedly detained after riding without protective gear as well as during the coronavirus lockdown in Caloocan City in the Metro Manila area on April 16.

As a punishment, the local police made them go home to get their helmets first and walk back to the station while wearing them.

They were then frogmarched down the deserted street while pretending to use nonexistent motorcycles - as neighbours laughed at them.

Local resident Mary Ann Paragas Rata saw the incident from the window of her home.

She said: "They deserve the punishment to learn.

Some of them were also caught without quarantine passes so they broke two rules already." The Philippines has implemented strict community quarantine measures such as city border checkpoints and curfews to prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus.
