Our coverage now moves back here to madison county.

We are now eight days away from the stay-at-home order expiring here in alabama which means businesses could soon reopen.

But is it safe?

We wanted to know if there is enough personal protective equipment for businesses to safely reopen.

Waay 31's rodneya ross is live in downtown huntsville.

Rodneya -- what are local leaders telling us about the supply of personal protective equipment here?

Right now the c-e-o of crestwood hospital and the chairman of the madison county commission told us there is a stable supply.

But if we get a spike in cases after businesses re-open, we could be in trouble.

Chairman dale strong said right now- the goal is to get a good supply of p-p-e in case there is a surge of caseslike the current spike of coronavirus cases in marshall county.

He said when businesses do re-open chairman, there's a lot to consider when determining the amount of ppe's needed for businesses and elective procedures.

Dale strong, madison county commission chairman "when we start looking at opening businesses it's more than just a couple of businesses.

We're looking at the hospitals have to consider opening elective surgeries, orthopedic, obgyn, and you start looking..ok there goes some of your supply chain to deal with that."

Chairman strong told us commission members are talking daily as they look towards reopening the county.

Today we're expect to hear from the huntsville emergency management agency director, the ceo of huntsville hospital, and madison mayor paul finley at the daily coronavirus briefing at noon.
