Portions of the 5.8 million dollar renovations - such as the new pedestrian entrance - walkway and improvements to the parking lot needed to be completed without disruptions due to safety reasons associated with those structures.

Work on the 1939 grandstand was halted for a couple of weeks while the village awaited confirmation on essential status - but has since resumed and is still progressing relatively on track with the original timeline.

The ground beneath the third base building will also be reinforced to provide a more solid foundation for the renovated bleachers to be placed there - but that will take place following the previously mentioned phases.

The essential status of the undertaking is allowing for the popular site to remain a safe destination for years to come.

According to mayor tillapaugh - work on the pedestrian entrance and grandstand is projected to be complete by mid to late may with the third base bleachers to follow.
