Shocking moment truck topples off overpass killing driver in Thailand

This is the shocking moment a truck skidded on a motorway overpass before plunging 30ft to the ground below killing the driver.

The 18-wheeled container lorry loading rice lost control on an overhead U-turn bridge and fell onto the lanes below in Bangkok, Thailand.

Police said the driver, Vichak Dokkam,40, was pulled from the wreckage but later pronounced dead in hospital last Saturday morning (April 25).

Highway cameras recorded the accident, showing the trailer truck making its way up the Thap Chang Mai bridge at a semi-fast speed, despite an overhead sign that forbids heavy trucks with four wheels and above.

Just as the 18-wheeler passes through the first curve, it flips over and smashes into the road below, leaving debris across all three lanes.

The incident happened around 6am last Saturday morning, on the highway bound to the resort city of Pattaya.

Officials took over two hours to remove the container trailer for the normal traffic to resume.

Police investigations are underway.
