Democratic leaders said lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives will not return to Washington.
According to Reuters, plans were changed because of the continued risk of getting infected with COVID-19.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said he and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made the decision.
Hoyer said the House physician there was a risk to members with so many cases in the District of Columbia.
President Donald Trump called their extended recess a “vacation” and compared them to the Senate, which will continue meeting.
