Nail artist turns her bad luck around

Nail artist Katie Masters was crushed when her salon, Nail Thoughts, had to be shut down for shelter-in-place.She had just opened the salon at the end of February. But Masters was able to turn everything around within a couple of weeks and shared her journey on TikTok.She was able to craft some makeshift press-on nail holders that she could use to paint sets without ruining the coat or staining her desk.Once she finished painting the sets, Masters found paper bags from around her apartment and cut them into strips — perfect for holding 20 press-on nails each.Masters launched an online shop through her Nail Thoughts website and bought some eco-friendly packaging in preparation for orders.

She sold out almost immediately.“God omg why am I so nervous posting this,” Masters posted in the comments section on her TikTok.The clip now has over 5 million views and thousands of positive comments cheering Masters on.“This is such an innovative idea!!

You persevered in a crazy tough time.

You are incredibly inspiring!” one person commented
