WOMAN DRESSED UP IN HIPPO COSTUME SO THAT SHE CAN SAFELY HUG FAMILY MEMBER IN NURSING HOME STORY: A woman put on a hippo costume on Wednesday (May 13) so that she can safely hug her familly member at a nursing home in the U.S. state of Virginia.

Fox Trails Assisted Living staff in Stephens City, Virginia, came up with the idea of using sterilized suits to allow family members to hug each other and at the same time avoid coronavirus spreading.

"They have been very cautious about having visitors and they came up with this idea to have loved ones dress up in sanitized suits as well as having masks and gloves on underneath" eyewitness and family member, Nick Bolerjack, told Reuters.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Tuesday (May 19) reported 1,504,830 cases of the new coronavirus, an increase of 24,481 cases from its previous count, and said that the number of deaths had risen by 933 to 90,340.
