Yahaira Jacquez reports.

Actress Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband have agreed to plead guilty to charges in a college admissions scandal that showed the extreme lengths wealthy parents will go to send their kids to top universities.

Until now, the couple had insisted they were innocent after being accused of paying $500,000 to get their daughters into the University of Southern California as fake rowing team recruits.

But on Thursday - federal prosecutors said that under plea agreements - Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli have agreed to serve two months and five months in prison, respectively.

In addition, Loughlin - known for her role in 'Full House' - has agreed to pay a $150,000 fine.

While, Giannulli has agreed to pay $250,000.

They are both expected to plead guilty on Friday to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud.

Loughlin and Giannulli are among more than 50 people charged in a scheme that involved bribing coaches and cheating on college entrance exams as a way to secure their children's admissions into elite schools.

Fellow Hollywood Actress Felicity Huffman, also charged in the scandal, pleaded guilty early on and is finished serving her sentence.

Loughlin and Giannulli had been scheduled to face trial in October alongside other parents.

Previously, their lawyers said the couple believed their money was being used for university donations.
