Protesters lined the streets in front of Kemble Park in Utica chanting the phrases synonymous with this movement such as "I can't breath" and "Black lives matter".

And the community was behind them including their police department.

Hundreds came together for a peaceful protest.

It started at kemble park and ended in oneida square.

News channel 2's brent kearney was there to see it.

Callihan law enforcement's main concern tonight was that things remained safe for all parties involved.

And police say it was a big relief for them that these protests stayed peaceful pkg: protesters lined the streets in front of kemble park.

And many of the protests that are happening around the country turning to violence, the protesters were proud that things stayed peaceful here in utica.

And utica police tell me they will have an increased presence throughout the city all night.
