Protesters lined the streets in front of Kemble Park in Utica chanting the phrases synonymous with this movement such as "I can't breath" and "Black lives matter".
And the community was behind them including their police department.

Callihan law enforcement's main concern tonight was that things remained safe for all parties involved.

And many of the protests that are happening around the country turning to violence, the protesters were proud that things stayed peaceful here in utica.

The Utica Common Council met Wednesday, June 3, and commended the city residents for protesting peacefully over the weekend.
