A biker in India escaped with his life after his motorbike went up in flames when security guards sprayed sanitiser to disinfect his vehicle.

Motorbikes are being sprayed with disinfectant on the street in an effort to combat the spread of coronavirus.

CCTV footage from Arvind Textile Mill in Ahmedabad, western India shows an employee punching his time card before reporting for work.

As soon as he rides in, two security guards spray sanitiser on his bike from either side.

Due to the combustible liquid, the bike catches fire, and the employee os forced to scramble to safety.

One man is seen hurling water from a bucket at the fire, which extinguished the flames.

Local sources from the company said the rider escaped with minor burns but the bike was badly damaged.
