'Silence right now is more damaging': Lorde voices her support for Black Lives Matter Lorde is "working out how to practice activism" whilst "refraining from social media" following the death of George Floyd.

She was among those to attend a peaceful protest in Aukland, New Zealand in support of the Black Lives Matter movement after unarmed George was killed in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, last week.

And Lorde has admitted it's vital to "strike a balance" between "self-serving social media displays and true action" as an ally to people of colour, whilst she insisted that "white silence" is "more damaging" than posting a "wack protest selfie".
