Oregon State football player caught on video saying racial slurs, dismissed from team

Rocco Carley was dismissed from Oregon State football after video arose of him uttering multiple racial slurs.

The first major test of oregon state head football coach jonathan smith's career.

It started tonight with audio recorded and posted to twitter that alleged to have contained the voice of oregon state football player rocco carley.

I will warn you the audio is uncomfortable and graphic.

Viewer discretion is advised.

Rocco carley: god damn field workers i tell you what.

I hate the god damn *s.

God damn fried chicken.

God damn working inthe fields like you're dropping a god damn hammer and a god damn feather at the same damn time i tell you what.

If you don't want me to tell you what i want all the gays to be killed also.

The gays and the muslims the blacks can stay as long as they do my god damn field work.

Islam.

I'lkl tell you what i'll get all those *s in a chamber and i'd just burn the* out of them.

It's tough to hear...and sources that lived in carley's home town and played high school sports with him told us that these were not isolated incidents.

Carley took to twitter to apologize...stating it was a video from three years ago but that he was impersonating a southern man.

However sources confirmed to kezi that he had sent around a plea to those in possession of the video asking them to delete it.

That apology did not go over well with teammates...with many like corner back isaiah dunn calling it an excuse.

Dunn also went on to tweet that if he was coach carley would be dismissed.

Star running back jermar jefferson similarly voice his anger over the tweets as well.

Head coach jonathan smith...who just four days ago stated that he wanted to add his voice to end sytemic racism...took decisive action...dismissing carley immediately....saying he would not tolerate racism or hate speech.

Athletic director scott barnes added suit with a comment of his own...stating that racism of any kind is unacceptable onthe oregon state campus and within our athletic department.

In this environment...smith and his coaches took immediate action and will likely have a set of honest conversations with their entire locker room.
