Airport manager---jim wadleigh--- tells me that passenger travel at the redding municpal airport is down significantly--- which is expected---since travelling is stil* not encouraged like you mentioned, scott--- the terminal at the redding municpal aiprort is open--- but because the number of people travelling has dipped---so has the number of flights.
Airport officials say before the coronavirus--- there were three flights to and from san francisco and one to and from los angeles.
Private, corporate, and air cargo flights are down too, bu* are still operating.
Airport officials say they continue to encourage travelers to follow the recommendations of health officials--- for example, take any opportunity to wash your hands thoroughly, avoid touching your face, using hand-sanitizer, follow social distancing guidelines and space apart from other travelers and bringing a mask.
If you happen to forget a mask or do not have one---the airport offers complimentary masks which you are required to wear while on board.
Aiport officals say they've ramped up cleaning and disinfecting the terminal with special attention to all "touch" points" they've also installed a "step and pull" to each of their restroom doors, placed a number hand-sanitizing stations, and even offer complimentary travel-size hand sanitizers--- live in redding, karen alvarez, action news now, coverage you can count on.
