>> unlike a lot of red-blooded women, i like a man in a good suit and put together.

And here to explain how your wardrobe can unlock opportunities, we would like to welcome david preston jr., an author and the power of the suit, thank you for joining us.

>> thank you for having me.

>> and look fantastic.

>> thank you, you as well.

>> i wanted to dress up for this occasion, and let's draw our attention to what you're wearing and this is something that you created yourself, is that right?

>> yes, this is a 2 button pinstripe blizzer that i just put together really for this show.

So i'm excited to wear it.

>> we're honored and when did you first become interested in tailoring?

>> i've always been interested in fashion, and in 2012, si stepped outside of the gate and launched my clothing line.

I'm a self taught tailor, and i read books on sewing and i used to go to the library and have broken a lot of sewing machines, but i finally got it right and that's what led me here today.

>> you're a traveling tailor, originally from charleston, and your family is still here, and hopefully they're watching but you're based out of maryland and you still travel.

>> i travel a lot.

And i'm the traveling taylor, and my goal is to make luxury your convenience.

So i come to your home or office to help with your big day.

And i have some clients in law who just wear suits every day.

And i always travel.

I spend a lot of time on an airplane, and i bring the luxury experience as well so i travel with my whole experience.

>> anchor: i come to your area and treat you like a king or king while you're being if i wanted.

>> sounds like fun.

And tell us why what we wear determines our station in life.

And why are the clothes we put on our back so important.

>> people always day dress for success and that statement is true.

I used to watch my grandfather get dressed and when i put on a suit, hisperformance changed.

And he walked and talked different.

And i didn't understand that until i put on a suit when i was season years old and i went to church with the easter suit on and all of the ladies kissed me on the check and told me how handsome i was.

And that was my first experience with the power of a suit.

In the course of my life, i've been able to have positive experience when's i wore a suit.

And that saying dress for success always comes back every time i have one of those experiences.

>> there's something irresistible about it, and i'm giving away too much about myself.

But let's talk about your new book, the power of the suit and what's inside.

>> this is a guide, with self assessments and testimonials, and i wanted it to be something that people could read and reflect and how they're being approached and approaching others.

So i talk a little bit about the power of the suit and i have neat facts like the study in marvard.

People who wear suits are far more likely to out perform their opponents in the workplace, and there are a lot of interesting tidbits that a lot of people don't know.

You can wear a suit and have the confidence, but if you don't have the respect and the manners, the inside part, it becomes void.

So this book is really a self assessment guide for people to review and understand better what they're wearing and how to act.

>> we'll quickly, not everybody can go out and afford beautifully tailored suits, and what would you give for folks on a shoestring budget but the to put their best foot forward.

>> i would say call me, i'm your guy.

A lot of people think that a custom suit has to break the bank, and it's not the case.

I try to make that experience affordable and put everyone in a suit.

Because once you experience your first custom suit that's built exactly for you, you'll never go back and you'll spend anything on a custom suit.

I offer affordable pricing and you pay for the fabric.

I have different fabric opposites to fit any budget.

But i recommend everybody to partner with a stylist or coach and it makes life easy.

>> i want to thank you so much, david.

And we're going to give all of the information on your new book and your serves and it's so fun to
