Today (tuesday) , united way and community partners held a food give-a-way event in warner robins.
More than three hundred families received boxes ... with enough food for several days.
There were plenty of volunteers on-site.... helping load food... including airmen from robins air force base.
Organizers say ... this was just one way to help the community as a whole.
"today, we wanted to do something for our veterans, but as well as for the community, so we are not discriminating.
We just want to give back to our community during this pandemic.
Food insecurities are at an all-time high, unemployment rate is at an all-time high, so we just want to give back to the community."
Friends of the Library Macon is teaming up with United Way of Central Georgia to give children books for the summer.
