Drones used to spray insecticides on locusts' swarms in Rajasthan

Drones were used to spray chemicals as swarms of locusts arrived in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer.

Authorities have deployed drones in an attempt to contain the crop destruction by locusts as experts warned of extensive losses.

Authorities have also issued advisories and deployed tractor-mounted sprayers to stop locusts in their tracks in the next couple of weeks to ensure that swarms do not end up devouring summer crops.

Swarms of locusts also entered in Rajasthan's Nagaur district on June 30.

People clanged utensils to scare them away in Didwana town of Nagaur district.

While speaking to media, the ADM of Didwana, Prabhati Lal Jat said, "This is their breeding season.

So the problem is going to increase.

The local administration is carrying out operations to control it."
