A determined man in central India who was paralysed 17 years ago remained determined to provide for his family, by working as a tailor from his own bed.

Varanasi citizen Jitendra, 48, stitched clothes with his sewing machine using his legs, but due to the paralysis the lower half of his body no longer works, prompting him to work the press by hand.

Jitnedra commented: "After paralysis it took me six months to get confidence to start my work again, and I decided not to lose hope and started sewing with my hand lying the on bed.

"I take measurements of customers from my bed only."
