A journalist in Hong Kong was seen being pummeled by the police's water cannon during a security law protest on July 1.

Footage shows the highly visible member of the press run across the street with a camera in hand as a second water cannon is deployed sending them flying.

Part of the national security law sees subversion to the Central Government punishable with life imprisonment.

The incident took place in the Wan Chai district.
