Olivia, Simone, an all-state catcher, is set to bring her heavy hitting to the Wildcats.
Good evening!
We have a senior send- off tonight - and this student- athlete was a big hit in whitesboro throughout her career.
Olivia simone - from the warriors softball team is heading to cazenovia college in the fall to continue her career on the diamond.
In the whitesboro program since seventh grade - she has been on varsity since eighth - and would have a five- year starter for the warriors had this spring season not been cancelled.
A catcher by trade - simone has stepped up all over the field for coach cirasuolo - starting her career at center field before stepping into the shortstop role and even filled in on the rubber as a pitcher in her time on the team.
Olivia lead the league with a .530 batting average her junior year - and finished her high school career with an average over .
400.
She helped to lead whitesboro to deep postseason runs in each of her four completed seasons - earning two trips to the section three finals.
A two-year captain - she lead the warriors in doubles - home runs and average the past two years.
She's a two-time mohawk valley all- star - a three-time tri-valley league all-star and an all- state catcher.
She hopes to be the catcher for the wildcats - but much like in high school - she is willing to play wherever asked.
A scholar-athlete every year of high school - simone will major in early childhood education at cazenovia.
If you have a student-athlete in your family who has committed to compete at the next level send us some info - pictures - videos - whatever you got!
