A security camera in the Indian capital has captured the horrifying moment an off-duty police officer hit a female pedestrian in his car and then ran her over as he was attempting to flee.
The disturbing scene took place on July 3rd.
The footage shows the hatchback hit the woman, knocking her to the ground.
As passers-by surround her to help her to her feet, the driver now runs her over and flees the scene.
The driver has been identified as a 56-year-old Delhi Police sub-inspector and has been arrested.
The woman, described as "elderly", was badly injured in the incident and is still undergoing treatment.
