One parent told me the school is giving them an option to either send their children to school for in person classes or take online courses.
Take a look at this email the palermo union school district sent out to parents.
It says based on their most recent surveys they are preparing to reopen on august 12th.
It says they are offering two different models.
One is the traditional model that gives children the opportunity to come to school in person for 5 days a week.
That model will incorporate safety measures like sanitation, social distancing and face coverings to keep students safe.
The other option is to have your children take online classes and have either in person or online weekly meetings with teachers i spoke with one parent who says she's choosing to send her children back to school for*in perso* classes.
I feel pretty safe sending them, my kids are good about wearing their mask.
I've explained what's going on.
They know they aren't supposed to share anything, no hugs, and constantly wash their hands and if they have to sneeze or cough, do it away from everybody.
The email says they will have extra sanitation, use ppe, perform health screenings and follow social distancing.
Another parent told me off camera she plans on sending her daughter to school here in person too because she doesn't have childcare available.
