India's professional sprinter Dutee Chand put up a facebook post, announcing she wants to sell her car--a BMW no less---but later deleted it.
Dutee Chand was due to participate in the Olympic games which were scheduled this year but got suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A media report quoted her as saying that she is facing a fund crunch.
She told rediff.com “It was a difficult decision for me to put up that post… Had there been an Olympics, I would have been all set, but, as the Games have been postponed by a year, I am unable to support myself.” SHe says she is the only earning member in her family.
She took down the post on the advice of her manager after she reportedly received offensive comments.
Dutee Chand has no sponsors at the moment except for an apparel deal with Puma.
