A Bihar police team visiting Mumbai over the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput commented on the charges levelled against the late actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.
Bihar police has gotten involved in the case after a complaint was filed by Sushant's father, KK Singh, against Rhea, accusing her of conspiring to seize the late actor's assets and putting him under mental stress.
The probe team said that it's keeping a 'watch' on Rhea.
They also visited the residence of film director Rumi Jaffery.
Bihar police also denied that Mumbai police, which was the first to start probing the death, were trying to hinder their investigation.
He said that the police force was confident of investigating the case, but if Sushant's family wanted, it could seek a CBI probe.
Sushant was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14.
Although the cause is considered suicide, Mumbai police is probing the incident and has recorded the statements over around 40 people, including Rhea and other Bollywood personalities like film-maker Mahesh Bhatta and Dharma Productions CEO Apoorva Mehta.
Sushant Singh Rajput family's lawyer, Vikas Singh said that Mumbai Police have completely gone in a wrong direction. So, family approached Patna Police. He said, "I have always said that the Mumbai Police is a very professional force. But for some reason, in this case, Mumbai Police have completely gone in a wrong direction. So, the family had to approach Patna Police."
Sushant Singh Rajput family's lawyer, Vikas Singh said that Supreme Court should give directions to Mumbai Police that they should help CBI in the investigation. He said, "Since Supreme Court has listened to lengthy arguments in the matter, I want that it should comment that the case has rightly gone to CBI. The Court should give directions that Mumbai Police should help CBI in the investigation. We have already stated in the written submission that Patna Police has the jurisdiction. The taking over the case by the CBI is accordance of the law. Let's hope. We are expecting the judgment to come very soon."

Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Mitu Singh left from Enforcement Directorate (ED) office on August 11. She was questioned in connection with a case related to the death of the actor. As the probe into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput intensifies, Union Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has now called for a fair probe into the case. In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Editor-in-Chief Shashi Shekhar, Prasad said that the actor's loss is a loss for the nation and not just the state of Bihar. The minister said that he was extremely saddened by the incident and the politics that followed his death. He also narrated an incident when he met the actor at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Sushant SIngh Rajput died of suicide on June 14, 2020. The case has now been handed over to the CBI after an open tug-of-war between the Maharashtra police and the Bihar police. Sushant's father has named the deceased actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty in the FIR filed in Patna and accused her of abetment to suicide. He also alleged that there were some fraudulent financial transactions, following which the Enforcement Directorate filed a money laundering acase. As the probe into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput intensifies, now the lawyer representing the deceased actor's family has hit out at Siddharth Pithani. The lawyer said that Pithani, who was the late actor's flatmate, is an intelligent criminal and accused him of helping Rhea Chakraborty. 'What he did was, until an FIR was registered by the family he was talking to them regularly and trying to help them. The moment the FIR was registered, he started helping Rhea,' the lawyer alleged. He further said that Pithani has been writing e-mails to Rhea Chakraborty even though she's an accused and added that this shows complicity between Rhea and Pithani. 'It is only upon custodial interrogation that the real truth will come out,' Vikas Singh added. Pithani had also been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the money laundering case based on the FIR filed by Sushant's father. Rhea Chakraborty left Enforcement Directorate office after further interrogation on Aug 10. She was interrogated for more than 9 hrs today. Actress's brother Showik Chakraborty and her father also left the ED office. Rhea was earlier questioned on Aug 07 in connection with Sushant's death. After getting the notification from the Government of India, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday registered case against Rhea Chakraborty, Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda, Shruti Modi, and others in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. The investigating agency booked 6 accused and others in sections including criminal conspiracy, abetment of suicide, wrongful restrain, wrongful confinement, theft, criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal intimidation. CBI said it is also in touch with Bihar Police. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had sent a recommendation to the Central Government to investigate the case filed in Patna based on the complaint of Sushant's father KK Singh against Rhea Chakraborty under sections including abetment of suicide on July 25. In Supreme Court, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the central government, submitted before a single-judge bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy that the Centre has accepted the Bihar government's request recommending a CBI inquiry into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The apex court was hearing a petition filed by Chakraborty seeking directions to transfer the case registered regarding the late actor's death in Bihar's Patna to Mumbai. Tiwari, who reached Mumbai for probe in Rajput case, has been quarantined by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials till August 15.
The government has accepted Bihar government's request of CBI probe into actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, Centre's senior second-most law officer Tushar Mehta stated it before the Supreme Court on Wednesday. Solicitor General Mehta made the submission during hearing of a plea by actor Rhea Chakraborty. Rhea had sought transfer of the case registered in Patna to Mumbai. The top court asked the parties involved to file their response in three days. SC has also ordered Maharashtra government to apprise court of the stage of probe by Mumbai Police. The case will now be heard next week. Sushant's father KK Singh had filed a police complaint against Rhea in Patna. Singh accused her of abetting his son's alleged suicide in June and alleged that Rhea illegally transferred Rs 15 crore from his son's bank account. Rhea challenged Bihar police's jurisdiction, saying the alleged crime took place in Mumbai. On Tuesday, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had recommended that the CBI take over the case. Kumar said the decision was taken after Sushant's father met state police chief. Sushant's father had also met Kumar seeking CBI investigation in the case. Singh alleged Mumbai police of inaction even after 40 days of actor's death.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday condemned the quarantine order against IPS officer Vinay Tiwari. Nitish said the order was “not right” and Bihar DGP is talking to authorities in Mumbai. "Bihar DGP will speak with the authorities there. Whatever happened with him (Vinay Tiwari) is not right. It is not a political matter. Bihar Police is carrying out its duty," Kumar said. Tiwari is probing the case related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Bihar DGP said, "They (BMC) are saying that they are following the guidelines as he (Tiwari) did not get himself tested for coronavirus before coming to Mumbai." Explaining the 'forcibly quarantined' allegation, BMC on Monday said that Tiwari was quarantined as per the present guidelines for domestic arrivals at Mumbai Airport. A team of Bihar Police is in Mumbai to probe the matter on the basis of an FIR which was registered in Patna, based on a complaint filed by Rajput's father KK Singh against actor Rhea Chakraborty under several sections including abetment to suicide.

He said, "Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari has still not be exempted from quarantine, it is like house arrest. We will decide what action to take after consultation with the advocate general. While speaking to ANI in Patna on August 04, the DGP of Bihar, Gupteshwar Pandey spoke on Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. He said, "They have forcibly quarantined an IPS officer. If Maharashtra government is proud of their police, then tell us what they have done in 50 days after death of Sushant Singh Rajput." "Mumbai has closed all communication channels with us. This indicates that something is wrong," Bihar DGP added.
Director-Producer Mahesh Bhatt left from Santa Cruz Police Station, where he had come to record his statement in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. Statements of several celebrities including film critic Rajeev Masand, director-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and filmmaker Aditya Chopra have been recorded for investigation. Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14.
