Fundraiser raises money for the the families of two children involved in jet ski accident

We have continuing coverage tonight of that horrific jet ski accident in sweet home.

Tonight... the community is coming together for another fundraiser for the victims' families.

Kezi nine news reporter connor mccarthy is live at the rio theater where the fundraiser just started a few minutes ago.

Matt and renee-- tonight the rio theater is showing the goonies... for free.

Donations are being asked at the door right here behind me and people have been contributing anywhere from 5 to 30 dollars.

All the proceeds will go to the maynard and swenson families.

Last month 6 year old zachary maynard and kennedy swenson were run hit and seriously injured by a runaway jet ski at a nearby lake.

Zachary passed away from his injuriess last week.

One of the organizers says he doesn't personally know the family but he says he just had to do something to help them out.

It just an unfortunate circumstance those kinds of thing happen.

You got a wonderful community out there that knows when it time to help each other out and this is one of them.

Branson says if you can't make it out to the movie today... you can stop by holly church in sweet home and drop off money or you can mail it to their address.

I watched two young kids walk up to the movie and donate their allowance.

The mom said when she told her daughters what the movie was for... the girls said they had to go and support the families.
