Around 400 people reportedly returned from Pakistan to India via the Wagah-Attari border crossing. They were stuck in the neighbouring nation due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequent lockdown. Around 360 of those who returned were reportedly NORI (No Obligation to Return to India) certificate holders. They underwent a medical check-up at the border post. Those who tested negative for Covid infection were asked to observe a 7-day quarantine at home, while those who tested positive were sent to Amritsar in ambulances for isolation. A python was rescued from the Sihari village of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh. The villagers had spotted the python which could not move after consuming a large prey. Forest officials rushed in after they were informed about the python and they had to use a rope and a log to lift the snake on to a mini truck. The snake was then released in the forest by the officials. A forest official said that the python had most likely eaten a goat and was not able to move after that.
