With a novel coronavirus case count nearing five million, the United States now holds about a quarter of all the COVID-19 cases in the world.
According to CNN, more than,162,000 Americans have died in the pandemic so far.
As of this week, five states account for more than 40% of US infections: California, Florida, Texas, New York, and Georgia.
The pandemic shows no sign of slowing.
However, that hasn't stopped the surge of school districts across the country from planning to re-open schools.
