United way of central georgia and butler automotive group host the 2nd annual pink promise united ace classic.

The fundraiser was postponed in may due to covid.

However, organizers say they rescheduled instead of cancelling because it's life changing.

41nbc jatrissa wooten reports.

"standup:golf and tennis players here at idle hour golf and country club raising money for breast cancer.

One participate tells me shes here in support of 3 important women in her life and if it wasn't for a mammogram- she would be able to tell the story that's why every serve and point counts."

Sot: shay correa participant "both of my grandmothers have it, and my mother had it twice" shay corra played in the tennis tournament to support united way's pink promise united ace-classic--a fundraiser for breast cancer.

Correa says after her mother and grandmothers beat breast cancer---she was thrilled.

But those feelings changed once correa began to think if she would be next to get breast cancer.

"you're scared, you don't know what to expect you dont know whats going to happen" correa says when her mother was diagnosed the first time, she got a double vasectomy.

The second time --radiation.

Correa says because of her family's medical history -- and with the uncertainty of her own health-- she knew she wanted to help other women.

The ace classic is a way to ensure women have access to breast cancer education, screenings and readings.

Sot: george mccanless president/ceo united way of central georgia "pink promise united initiative which helps to pay for mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women" united way's ceo, georgia mccanless, says the ace classic raised close to 130-thousand dollars last year, providing c1 3 b13 free mammograms to almost 100 women.

This year, the group hopes to raise nearly 100 mccanless says
