While restaurants are hotspots for people to enjoy themselves and socialize, Commodore Bob's Yacht Club in Starkville said it is no exception to the coronavirus safety regulations.

I'm in front of commodore bob's yacht club, an ocean-themed restaurant and bar in starkville.

Like most restaurants, commodore bob's has made changes to help try and reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

Caitlin cade is a student and server at commodore bob's yacht club.

She said she had only been working there for a week when the pandemic broke out.

"when a customer visits, we do a lot of reservations, which help us space out and assign tables where they can sit at."

"as soon as they leave, we wipe down the tables really well, we get the dishes off."

She said employees wear masks and keep their hands clean.

Keeping space can be challenging in the restaurant's small spaces.

Bartender and server john hughes is also a student at mississippi state.

He said a menu gets much more attention now.

"once a customer gets done with it, you know, we'll take it back, we'll wipe it down."

He added simply keeping the restaurant clean and making sure customers follow safety guidelines is part of the job nowadays.

"people try and walk in without a mask, and it's tough because like, you know our door's right there, and it's a really small building, so it's like oh, i don't wear the mask and walk two feet, but i mean, it's the rule, everyone's gotta wear one."
