It had been "17"-years "since the last federal execution".

Our alia blackburn was a media witness.

We have // haven't heard from her ..

And she said xxxxxx.

Nelson was the second person to be executed this week.

In 20-01..

"nelson" pleaded "guilty" to "kidnapping", "raping", and "murdering" "10"-year-old "pamela butler" she was from kansas ..

And police found her body in missouri.

The government just resumed these federal executions this summer.

Today's execution brings the total to five in just about a month's time.

Before this summer, there had been a 17-year-long break.

Demonstrators have been present at all of these executions.

News 10's richard solomon has been following them today.

Behind me you can read some of the signs protesters are holding.

I was out here with them for most of the day.

Protesters met at the dollar general around 2:30.

They first had a vigil.

I spoke with death penalty action... one of the organizers traveled here from some place.

He says these executions are a political stunt by the president.

Wednesday, donald trump became the most executing president since the 1950s ///////// as i've been here today..

People have been driving by yelling from their cars in favor of the death penalty... one person actually stopped and talked with the other demonstrators.

He shared his throughts on why he stands for the death penalty.

Here's what he has to say.
