The Locker Room: High School Football Week Three

All the highlights and action from around week three of the high school football season in Northeast Indiana.

So with that i say a good evening and welcome inside the locker room everyone...as you can see i am flying solo tonight....that's because our boy petar hood is all grown up... and getting married tomorrow...congrats to pete..

But we got a show to get to... it's already week three of the high school football season... and we still have three teams in the s-a-c left undefeated..

Northrop, dwenger and carroll... none have looked more dominant through two weeks than the chargers..

They've won by a total of 64 points over snider and luers..

But a much tougher test awaits them this week in 5a's 12th ranked north side...as the chargers and legends face off in our locker room game of the week..

We head to gorsuch field... two of the best signal callers in the area squaring off tonight... carroll's jeff becker taking on north side's duce taylor...and were we in for a show tonight... first series of the game... becker all the time in the world... looking deep... finds jameson coverstone for six... chargers up seven-nothing...duce and the legends would answer... just under six to play in the first quarter... duce hooks up with adrian sewell for the pitch and catch for six... north side squares things up at seven....the legends would force a carroll punt... in the second..

Fourth down..

North side going for it... taylor once again finds sewell for the first down... in to carroll territory...a few plays later... duce chased out of the pocket... shovels the ball off to brauntae johnson..

He finds paydirt... make it a 13-7 game legends lead...but carroll would have one more trick up their sleeve... looking to answer... they pull out the reverse flea flicker... becker finds hunter mertz for the score... chargers take a 14-13 lead... they'd go up 29-19 at half..

Carroll stays unbeaten with the 76-48 win... we head to shields field now... 5a's fourth ranked dwenger looking to move to three and oh taking on south side...and the saints had zero problems tonight... up four scores in the third... tommy witte gets to roosevelt norfleet the third for the sack...next play... norfleet under pressure once again... throws one up... and this time it's picked by sam campbell.... and he ain't going down without a fight... bobs and weaves his way deep in to archer territory... taken out inside the ten yard line... next play... the saints do what they do best... hand the ball off to aziz dixon... he punches it in from a few yards out...dwenger takes a 33-0 lead... saints run away with this one tonight...33-13 your final... to wayne high school playing host to the northrop bruins.pick this up in the first quarter... neither team afraid to score.the senior chris thomas taking the handoff... finds the endznoe for wayne.northrop says i see your handoff... i'll raise you a reverse.second play of the drive....darrius sanders gets it and puts on the afterburners.

No one catching him.65 yards into the endzone...we have a tied ballgame.

14 to 14 and we're still in the first quarter.

Bruins have the ball next posession...this time its shawn collins turn.gets out his do it himself kit...couple moves... making a few guys miss and you're not going to be able to catch him in the open field.he finds the endzone himself.wayne up a score at the end of the first quarter...and they'll hold on to win.

42-33 to luersfield...bishop luers taking on homsestead.

Never an easy game against the spartans...luers down big coming out of halftime... but looking to cut the defecit.

Opening kickoff... this'll help.sir hale makes a couple guys miss.he takes it all the way down to the 15 yard line.

He loves it.

Bench loves it.

Problem is... they have to settle for a field goal try and that doesn't go.and you can't give homestead many chances.first its evan ormsby finds his many over the middle.

Thats a first down and big gain.couple plays later...takes the top off the defense... long ball.

Touchdown.but luers will have an answer.

First its the completion on third and long on the sideline.they're able to punch it in on the goalline.

Final stop in the s-a-c takes us to spuller stadium... d-j moore and snider looking for their first win taking on concordia...panthers up ten at half... cadets kicking off..

And they reach in to their bag of tricks..

Cooper harris the perfect onside kick..

Recovered by kam vanderbosch... concordia takes over...cadets would try to get the ball moving on offense... eli mattox finds luke speckhard on the sideline... some extracurriculars later..

And it's a first down concordia...but the cadets would turn the ball over on downs... ensuing drive for snider... third down and long... luke haupert rolling right... gets the ball tipped... but finds a'doreon rogers downfield... that's a first down...panthers would have to settle for a field goal..

And how about some kicker love... trent rider knocks it through...snider goes up 13... panthers pick up their first win 27-0 the final... down in huntington, hn hosting en, east noble.

Knights lead 14-0 at the half where we pick this one up the knights go over the top early, datlon stinson hucks it down field.

Nick munson reels in the catch and makes it into the endzone to help put the knights up 21-0, huntington north wasn't going away though viking qb ried johnson, he finds zach hubartt streaking across the middle, he says good luck catching me, he would take the ball 82 yards to the house to get the vikings on the board.

It's not 21-7 east noble leads the knights would respond a few minutes later, their next drive they march down the field, dalton calls his own number and he punches it in from close to make it 28-7.

The vikings would add on two touchdowns but fall short, knights win 28-21?

We take out you to columbia city, the eagles hosting bellmont tonight on their new turf.

Late in the first quarter hear, cc trying to convert the 4th down, but quartback greg bolt gets sacked way in the backfield and bellmont would get the ball, unfortunately, that was one of few bright spots on the night for the braves.

The eagles decide to soar on this play.

Bolt airs it out to hunter herron down the sideline, he goes for six untouched.

The eagles would go up seven nothing fans and cheerleaders, well they would be doing a lot of pushups tonight.

Later on in the second c city march down the field, this time bolt hangs on to the option.

He pounds the ball in from seven yards up helping the eagles go up 13-0.

Staying in the ne8... leo hosting norwell tonight to open conference play....and we know the lions offense is good... well how about the defense... first drive of the game for norwell... eli riley picked off by d-j allen... he takes it in for the short pick six... it's six nothing leo... and then in the second quarter..

Their offense found some life... ethan crawford takes the ball outside... gets first down yardage...a few plays later... the lions get behind their big hosses up front and do what they do best... it's tanner jackson punching it in...leo goes up 14-0... they pitch the shutout tonight... 17-0 the final... new haven 32, pioneer 28 we head over to woodburn... casey kolkman and his heritage patriots visiting woodlan tonight...and the pats came to play... gage pritchard down the sideline for the big gain in to woodlan territory....a few plays later... chris baker looking right... he finds clayton gerardot in the endzone for six... and heritage takes a 26-7 lead... woodlan looking to mount a bit of a comeback... jacob snyder finds david rodgers-potter down inside the heritage ten yard line...a few plays later... it's snyder and rodgers-potter hooking up again... this time on the shovel... rodgers- potter takes it in for six... that makes it a 26-13 game after three...but the woodlan comeback falls short... patriots win 26-19 the final... sticking in the acac... 1a number two south adams hosting bluffton tonight....and the starfires exploded out of the gates in this one tonight... just under three minutes in... christian summersett punches it in from a couple out... 6-0 stars after the missed extra point...just a few minutes later... south adams back on offense... james arnold with a lot of time in the pocket... he's good under pressure..

Finds nick miller wide open..

He takes it in for the 47 yard pitch and catch..

It's 12-0 stars...but they were far from done... just over three left to play in the first... it's arnold with a lot of time again... and once again he finds a wide open nick miller downfield...miller does the rest... that's a 41 yard score... his second... south adams up 18 nine minutes in... the stars run away with this one tonight..... 60-7 the final... adams central 41, tri 0 we start at the rock pile... for an decades old rivalry between warsaw & plymouth.

101st meeting, 90th year.------ 1st q warsaw drives down quickly, julius jones gets the pitch from aaron greene, and jones comes up just a yard short of the pylon.-----jones would finish it off a few plays later.-------later plymouth tries to make something happen on offense but the tigers are able to get a turnover as caden silveus picks off zach masterson.

-------warsaw finds pay dirt just before halftime as colton wampler sneaks in between the tackles for the tdwarsaw wins 28-14 northridge and wawasee are both unbeaten and each team has yet to allow a single point.

Tonight they take on each other to open nlc play and northridge's defense is still up to the task.

Parker young looking to pass... john king gets in his face... and brings him down for a sack!--------------- then the raiders stat to march on offense.

Logan hooley rolls out... then takes off for a nice gain to move the chains.
