We will be happy to make repeat order of Rafale aircraft if Indian Air Force would like to acquire more, said Dassault Aviation CEO, Eric Trappier at the induction ceremony of five Rafale aircraft into IAF's 17 Squadron 'Golden Arrows'. "If the Indian Air Force would like to acquire more Rafale aircraft, we will be happy to make a new proposal or make repeat order," said Trappier.
Indian Navy successfully test fired BrahMos supersonic cruise missile on October 18. It was fired from Indian Navy's indigenously-built stealth destroyer INS Chennai. The missile hit the target successfully with pin-point accuracy in the Arabian Sea. “BrahMos as ‘prime strike weapon’ will ensure the warship’s invincibility by engaging naval surface targets at long ranges, thus making the destroyer another lethal platform of Indian Navy," the defence ministry said in a statement. A Chinook helicopter on Saturday took off the debris of IAF's MI-17 helicopter. The MI-17 helicopter had caught fire following a collision with an iron girder. The incident took place while landing at the helipad near Kedarnath temple back in 2018. The debris of the MI-19 helicopter was being carried to a nearby airbase. The preparations for lifting the debris has been going on for the last 15 days. Recently, IAF officers visited Kedarnath Dham and took stock of the damaged helicopter. In the incident, the pilot had suffered a minor injury and the helicopter was damaged.

The Indian Air Force celebrated its 88th anniversary with a grand parade and scintillating air display at the Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad. The event was attended by Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Army Chief MM Naravane and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh. IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria inspected the parade which was followed a majestic air display. The highlight of the air show this time around was the newly inducted Rafale jets which took part in the air display. The Rafale flew in the 'Vijay' formation, flanked by two Jaguars and Mirage 2000 each. It also carried out a minimum radius turn within an area smaller than a hockey field forming a figure of eight. The Air Force Day is celebrated to mark the day the IAF was established in 1932. Wishes poured in for the IAF from across the political spectrum with President Kovind and PM Modi leading the way. Five Rafale jets were inducted into the Indian Air Force at a grand ceremony at the Ambala air base. The Rafale jets were given a ceremonial water cannon salute and it was followed by a stunning air display. The Rafale aircraft will be part of IAF’s 17 Squadron the ‘Golden Arrows’. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his French counterpart Florence Parly witnessed the entire ceremony. One of the Rafales has performed a low flypast, while Tejas Light Combat Aircraft, IAF’s Sarang helicopter display team also displayed aerobatic manoeuvres during the induction ceremony. The first set of 5 Rafale jets arrived in India on 29th of June. The delivery of all 36 aircraft is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2021. The Rafale jets, built by French aerospace major Dassault Aviation, are known for air-superiority and precision strikes on ground targets, giving the IAF a major boost. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on September 10 and Minister of the armed forces of Florence Parly met at Hyderabad House in the national capital. Minister Florence Parly was the chief guest for Rafale induction ceremony held earlier today at Air Force Station, Ambala. The first five Rafale aircraft will be part of 17 Squadron, the "Golden Arrows".The aircraft had arrived at Air Force Station, Ambala from France on July 27, 2020. Parly said it is a great pride to see the first five Rafale jets inducted in time in the Indian Air Force despite the COVID-19 crisis.
While addressing at the joint press briefing on Rafale induction ceremony in Haryana's Ambala on September 10, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "I had a fruitful discussion with Madam minister (Florence Parly) today. We have decided to continue work on identified defence industrial area and military to military cooperation." "I have invited the French defence manufacturers to invest in defence corridors in India," Defence Minister added.
